My grad show is officially less than one month away! As I type, there are several of my paintings getting framed at Division 9 Gallery. I've been painting all day, and figure I need to create 2 more crucial pieces in order to finish telling my epic story titled "Guardians of the Heart". I'm pretty sure I can do it!! Just have to buckle down and not work on anything else, or talk to anyone, or go anywhere...

Lots of planning. Some of the things I still need to do are: order the wall sticker, make labels, create a price list, select a refreshment menu, decide if I want to paint the front gallery wall a certain color, repaint the edges of each painting, buy hardware and wire to hang the work, write my artist statement.

Piece of cake.

Announcement are coming in the mail next week, but here's a preview! By the way, this is a free event open to the public....meaning YOU are invited =)

Another Vision Come to Fruition

I think it's gotta be the best feeling in the world to have an idea and then see it come into existence. It's been said the artist's greatest struggle is to never be able to recreate the vision in physical form the way they see it in their mind. To be honest, I don't always see it THAT clearly in my mind, so sometimes when it comes into existence it's better than what I imagined.

This new painting came together pretty fast, and I think it's because I took the time to do an oil study. There are 6 weeks before my grad show and I have several ideas that need to be brought to life! I hope the physical work will outdo my imagination, so that the world can enjoy an even better glimpse of what I see in my mind's eye. ;)
